Publication Transportation: You can take Metro. As of Dec. 2021, Shanghai Metro had 20 lines in operation (including maglev lines), with 508 stations (including 2 stations on maglev lines), and a total length of 831 km (including 29 km of maglev lines). The statistics do not include Jinshan Railway. Shanghai also has the world's most extensive bus system with nearly one thousand bus lines, operated by numerous transportation companies. Not all of Shanghai's bus routes are numbered - some have names exclusively in Chinese. Taxi: Taxis in Shanghai are plentiful and market competition has driven taxi fare down to affordable prices for the average resident (¥14〈 ¥18 after 11pm 〉for the first 3 kilometers).
